2) Research Exchange Programme:
Brilliant young students are invited to apply for the Research Exchange Ph.D. programme at the institute. Students admitted to this programme will spend equal time shared between IIIT, Hyderabad and a partner research group at a world-class University. The students will have the option of registering with IIIT, Hyderabad or the partner University. Financial support is guaranteed at both ends. This Programme, involving several students, is already operative with selected research groups at CMU, UPenn, University of Illinois, etc. For admission into this programme, applicants to the Ph.D. programme of the institute need to select the Research Exchange option on the portal. For details regarding REP please click here.

3) Part-Time Programmes:
Some of the PG programmes are available on a part-time basis to professionals in Hyderabad region.

a) Part-Time Master of Technology (MTech) Programme

The professionals can join the regular M.Tech. programme of the institute on a part-time basis. They have to meet the same requirements for the degree and will be attending classes along with the full-time students of the institute. The required course work can be completed in 4 or 5 semesters. In case of the project option, it will be possible to do the project at the workplace with project co-supervisors at the institute and the place of employment.

The objective of the two-year M.Tech. programme is to produce post-graduates with advanced knowledge in one or more areas of Computer Science. The programme is designed such that a student can complete it based on advanced coursework alone. However, the students are given the facility to concentrate on a problem by substituting some of the courses with equivalent project work. Follow this link for more details on those programmes.

b) Post-Graduate Student Status Programme (PGSSP):

The PGSS Programme provides an opportunity for professionals in the Hyderabad area to benefit from the advanced courses offered at the institute. The post-graduate status can be accorded to a professional on the basis of his or her academic and experience record. Once someone is awarded the PG status, he or she can take a maximum of two courses at the institute every semester. This provides him or her with the opportunity to acquire new knowledge in chosen areas without committing to a formal programme. The courses taken under the PGSSP scheme can count towards a formal degree from the institute, should the student join one of the full-time or part-time programmes subsequently. Follow this link for more details on those programs

Admission Procedure:

Admission to PG programmes will be on the basis of the performance at the Post-Graduate And PhD Entrance Examination (PGEE 2008) and an interview to be held at Hyderabad. However, for the research programmes i.e., Ph.D. and M.S. by Research programmes, exceptional candidates may be called directly for the interview on the basis of their application.
