UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS

The International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad is an autonomous, self supporting institution started in 1998 with seed support from the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Entrance: From 1998 to 2001, the institute had held its own All India Entrance Examination for selecting candidates for the UG programmes. The admissions from 2002 are based on merit in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination being conducted by CBSE on 11th May 2003.
Note:
The International Institue of Information Technology is offering B.Tech in ECE(Electronics and Communications) whose admissions will be based on the AIEEE score. The candidates appearing for AIEEE are eligible to this course also.
Note that there is no separate procedure for applying to IIIT. At the time of
central counselling to be conducted by CBSE itself (at various centres in
the country), the selected candidates will be able to give their choice as
IIIT Hyderabad.
Eligibility: Students who have completed (or will complete by June 2002) 10+2 with mathematics and physics are eligible to appear in the entrance exam.
Sale of Information Bulletin/ Application Form:
Application can be procured in the following ways:
a.) Information Bulletin containing Application Form and other details can be obtained against cash payment of Rs. 300/- for General Category and Rs.150/- for SC and ST candidates from branches of the Syndicate Bank.
b.) Information Bulletin containing Application Form can be procured by post only from the AIEEE Unit at the Central Board of Secondary Education. Candidates should send their request to the Asstt. Secretary AIEEE Unit, Central Board of Secondary Education, 17-B, I.P. Estate, New Delhi - 100 002 along with a bank draft of Rs. 350/- only for General Category and Rs. 200/- only for SC and ST candidates payable in favour of The Secretary, CBSE at New Delhi and a self addressed envelope of 12" x 10". This includes Rs. 50/- towards postal charges.
c.) Information Bulletin containing Application Form can be got personally from Regional Offices at CBSE Institutions.
d.) Online submission can be made online at AIEEE website.

Last date for applying online is 24th January 2003.
Last date for sale of application forms at Syndicate Bank, Regional Offices of the CBSE and designated institutions is 1st February 2003.
Last date for payment of fees at bank branches by online applicants is 1st February 2003.
Scheme of Examination:
The entrance examination will have following papers:
Paper–1
It would comprise of Physics & Chemistry each with equal weightage containing 150 objective type questions (4 options with single correct answer). Each question would carry four marks. This paper would be of 2 hours and 30 minutes’ duration.
Paper – 2
It would comprise of Mathematics containing 75 objective type questions (4 options with single correct answer). Each question would carry four marks. This paper would be of 1 hour and 15 minutes’ duration.
