e-Sagu: Web-based Agricultural Expert Advice Dissemination System

eSagu system is a finalist in the Stockholm Challenge Award 08.

Prof P.Krishna Reddy has Awarded the title "The Fellows of Manthan Award: The e-Content Pathbreakers" in the year 2007 by Digital Empowerment Foundation, New Delhi.

The eSagu project is the winner of "The Manthan Award 2007 - India's Best e-Content for Development".

e-Sagu project has won the best CSI-Nihilent e-Governance Project Award (overall winner) 2005-06.

The eSagu (An IT-based Personalized Agro-Advisory System) system has been recognized a one of the world wide latest novel internet application by a not-for-profit Think Tank for Taiwanese Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taipai (Behalf of Institute of Information Industry, Taiwan)

2007 Centre for VLSI & Embedded System Technologies (C-VEST) has won the first prize at the Intel India Student Research Challenge (IISRC) for the year 2006-07. This recognition was for their research on the 'Design of A High Speed 32-bit Arithmetic and Logic Unit'. The team consisted of Mr Srihari, V (MS) and third year B.Tech (ECE) students Mr Keerthi Krishna, Mr Avinash Lingamneni and Mr Srikanth Reddy, all pursuing their honours In VLSI design, led by IIIT-H faculty member Dr M B Srinivas.

2006 Document Understanding Conferences (DUC) conducts an International contest where a large number of International research and academic institutions participate. The contest is run by National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST, USA) with the aim of strengthening research in summarization of documents. In 2006, the system from IIIT has topped in all categories of automatic evaluation with significant margin from the runner up, thus, competing successfully with 35 International teams from different parts of the world (http://duc.nist.gov). The team of three researchers J Jagadeesh and Prasad Pingali was ably led by IIITH faculty member Dr Vasudeva Varma. Last year also the same team participated for the first time and stood 3^rd, 4^th and 8^th in different categories of this contest, an unusual performance for a first time participant.

2006 One B.Tech student has been selected for demonstration of "MS SQL Learning Suit" at Seattle in Microsoft Faculty Summit.

2005 3^rd position in Robo Rescue Simulation League held in Japan back and IIIT-H (http://robocup2005.org/news/results.aspx) was the only qualifying team from India in the International RoboCup-2005 competition which had teams from more than 40 countries.

2005 Trading Agent Competition awarded Best New Agent award. This puts us in the world map of an interesting Multi Agents Systems area of Trading Agent Competitions (http://www.sics.se/tac/page.php?id=1) led by IIIT-H faculty member Dr Kamal Karlapalem.

2005-06 eSagu (IT for agriculture) project is listed as one of the top three projects in India along with BHOOMI and SAMPARK by NISG – Chief Investigator of the project is IIIT-H faculty member Prof P K Reddy.
